If you are searching for a men only hotel Blackpool has a small, well-established choice. All of the options below sit on or just off Lord Street, so you step outside and you are in the Rainbow Quarter. Each one has its own house rules, so read the notes before you commit.
Which Blackpool hotels are men-only?
Three stays in our listings are men-only and adults-only:
- The Prince Albert Hotel on Yates Street: a discreet hotel that keeps a low profile on the street, with themed weekends. Our research lists seven en-suite rooms across three floors, reached by stairs only. Walk to Blackpool North station: about 5 minutes.
- Trades Hotel and Bar on Lord Street: a members' hotel and late bar in joined townhouses, with the bar open daily 11am to 3am on the listed hours. Walk to the station: about 3 minutes; to Mardi Gras: about 1 minute.
- Welhorny's on Banks Street: a private members' naturist guest house with a bar, themed weekends and bear-friendly nights. Walk to the station: about 3 minutes; to Funny Girls: about 2 minutes.
How do they compare?
| Stay | Feel | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| The Prince Albert Hotel | Quiet, discreet, small | A calm base with a lounge bar and breakfast |
| Trades Hotel and Bar | Big, sociable, late-running bar | Staying right where the nights end |
| Welhorny's | Members' rules, naturist | Guests who know the naturist and bear scene |
What does men-only actually mean here?
It means men only and 18 or over, and at Trades and Welhorny's you are asked to follow members' arrangements for your stay. Do not turn up expecting to bring a guest of another gender, and read the policy when you book. Our research notes that Trades has seen a recent licence transfer and change of supervisor, so ask the hotel directly about current management and facilities. At the Prince Albert, reception hours were described inconsistently in listings, so confirm check-in arrangements before you travel.
Is a men-only hotel right for me?
Choose one if you want a stay with no mixed-group noise, a bar downstairs that suits your crowd, and the scene on your doorstep. If you would rather share the trip with friends of every gender, look at our adults-only guest houses instead; most of them welcome everyone over 18.
Planning around your stay
- Add a late night: Man Bar and Growlr Club runs a men-only cruise club on the upper floor; entry is by wristband, collected at the downstairs counter.
- Show night: Funny Girls is a two to five minute stroll from all three stays.
- Access: all three have stairs, and none lists a lift, so mention mobility needs when you book.

Practical notes before you book
Men-only stays tend to suit travellers who know exactly what they want from a weekend, so it helps to ask a few questions up front. Ask whether breakfast is included, what time you can check in, and what the bar arrangements are for residents. The Prince Albert lists check-in from 3pm and check-out by 10:30am in our research, and it lists a no-smoking, no-pets policy with free wifi.
Think about your own comfort too. Welhorny's is a naturist guest house, which is a very different proposition from a quiet hotel with a breakfast room. Trades is large, with around 60 rooms in our research, so you get a sociable crowd rather than a boutique feel.
Pair your stay with a sauna visit
Two men's saunas sit within a few minutes of these hotels: Acqua Sauna on Springfield Road, two minutes from the station, and W3 Complex on Charles Street. Both are men only and 18+, and opening times vary, so check their own sites before you go.
Policies, prices and facilities can change, so confirm details with the property before you book.
