What is Funny Girls like?
Funny Girls is the big-ticket night of a Blackpool gay weekend. Forget a pub turn: this is a proper theatre production with a live company of queens, sparkling costume changes, a comic host and a fresh themed show every season. The venue is a 1939 cinema with art deco styling on Dickson Road, and it has been entertaining visitors since 1994. New owners took over in 2026 and extended the staging so the performers work much closer to the audience. Entry is 18+ only.
When should you go?
Show nights run Wednesday to Sunday. Doors open at 7pm, a host and DJ warm things up from 8pm, and the main show starts around 8:30pm, finishing at about 11:30pm. The box office phone line is staffed Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm. Productions rotate by season, so see what's on for whichever run is playing when you visit.
