An adults-only stay means no children's noise at breakfast and a quieter landing after a big night. Blackpool's gay guest houses cluster around Lord Street, Cocker Street and Dickson Road, so most are a short stroll from the bars. Here is the full list, grouped by style.
Which are the adults-only guest houses?
LGBTQ+ guest houses
- Westfield House: small, quiet, Edwardian, four-star rated, with discounted parking vouchers and non-smoking rooms. About 6 minutes to the station.
- Lawrence House: four-star, aimed at LGBTQ+ guests and their pals, with a roof terrace and dinner on the listing. Check-in 2pm to 10pm; about 4 minutes to The Flying Handbag.
- Chaps Hotel: an established LGBTQ+ hotel on Cocker Street: themed bedrooms, breakfast, and a bar downstairs. About 5 minutes to the station.
- Q Accommodation: boutique, room-only, seven suites, booked through Mardi Gras. About 2 minutes to the station.
Adults-only B&Bs with a bar
- The Dragonfly: a B&B-style stay with a bar of its own, on Lord Street. It changed hands recently, so confirm what is included.
- The Belvedere: a Victorian-era guest house along Dickson Road, with a following among LGBTQ+ guests. A sale has been reported, so confirm it is trading.
- Evanescent Bar and Rooms: a laid-back bar with budget rooms on Cocker Street.
- McGraths Bar and Hotel: 18+ rooms above a lively drag bar, with guests praising hosts, cleanliness and breakfast.
Modern and bar-led
- Hotel Neon: a modern hotel next to a cocktail bar with a garden, on Yates Street.
- Peek-a-Booze: budget rooms above a cabaret bar on Dickson Road.
Are all gay guest houses in Blackpool adults-only?
No. Pride Lodge on High Street and De-Lovely Hotel on Lord Street are LGBTQ+ guest houses where we have not recorded an adults-only rule, so ask when booking if that matters. Mardi Gras and Rendezvous also have rooms without a recorded age policy in our data.
Which one is quietest?
Westfield House and Lawrence House are the calmer picks: the first is tagged as quiet, the second is set back from the main drag. Anywhere above a bar, such as McGraths or Peek-a-Booze, is the opposite: ideal if you want to fall into bed after the last song.
Booking notes
- Stairs: several listings state upper floors by stairs only, with no lift.
- Parking: Lawrence House has no on-site parking, and nearby car parks are the answer.
- Groups: Westfield House is listed as declining stag and hen parties; see our group planning guide.

Choosing between guest houses and bars with rooms
A guest house gives you a landlady-or-landlord welcome, a breakfast table and usually an earlier night. A bar with rooms gives you a late-night downstairs and the sound of the party until closing. Neither is better; it depends on whether you want the weekend to start at the bar or finish at it.
If breakfast matters, De-Lovely's breakfast is highly rated, Chaps lists breakfast, and McGraths guests praise theirs. If you want a drink on the premises without leaving the building, Chaps, The Dragonfly and The Belvedere all list a bar.
Planning your first evening
Most of these stays are a few minutes from Mardi Gras and Funny Girls. Use the walking times above to decide how far you want to go, and read our first weekend plan for how to pace it.
Policies, prices and facilities can change, so confirm details with the property before you book.
