You can reach the Rainbow Quarter without a car. Blackpool North station sits at the quarter's border, and bars and stays are close by. We do not publish timetables here because they change, so use the right sources for times.
How do I get to Blackpool by train?
The principal station is Blackpool North. Our travel notes list direct trains from Manchester, Manchester Airport, York and Leeds, with a change at Preston from London. Check times and engineering works on National Rail before you travel.
| From the station | Walk |
|---|---|
| Pride Lodge | 1 minute |
| Q Accommodation | 2 minutes |
| Mardi Gras | 3 minutes |
| Funny Girls | about 2 minutes (see venue) |
| North Pier | about 9 minutes from Pride Lodge |
| Blackpool Tower | about 12 minutes from Pride Lodge |
What about trams?
A tram stop at Blackpool North, beside the station on Talbot Road, links the Promenade line with the quarter. Modern trams are step-free; heritage ones are not. For service patterns and last departures, check Blackpool Transport; do not rely on our notes for late services.
Can I drive and park?
The M55 takes you nearly to the seafront. The open-air car parks on Banks Street and Dickson Road are roughly three minutes away, and Talbot Road multi-storey is around four minutes away. Expect roughly £13 to £19 for a full day, and a multi-day ticket brings the daily rate down. A few guest houses sell cut-price passes, which you must buy before you park. Pride Lodge sells a pass at reception, Westfield House offers vouchers and Lawrence House has no on-site parking.
How do I get home late?
If you are staying in the quarter, you can usually walk: nearly every stay is within 8 minutes of the main bars. Otherwise there are cabs at the station and outside Funny Girls, and a licensed taxi booked in advance is wise at busy weekends. Travel in a group where you can, and keep your hotel's address and phone number handy; read our safety page as well.
Which stays make late nights easiest?
- Mardi Gras, Trades Hotel and Bar and Peek-a-Booze: rooms in or above the bar.
- Rendezvous Bar and Rooms: 1 minute to Queen Street.
- See hotels with a bar.
What if I have access needs?
Heritage trams have steps; stays often have stairs. Phone ahead, and check individual stay pages.
A late-night checklist
- Save your hotel's address and number on your phone.
- Agree a meeting point with friends before the last bar.
- Note taxi ranks at the station and outside Funny Girls.
- Do not rely on trams for the last journey without checking Blackpool Transport first.
Heading home
Allow time after a big night. If you have a morning train, check National Rail the evening before and pick a stay close to the station; our station list shows the walking times.
Any tips for arriving with a suitcase?
Choose a stay within a few minutes of the platform, check what time the reception is staffed, and tell your host your train. Pride Lodge lists WhatsApp contact out of hours, which helps with late arrivals.
Where do I find up-to-date times?
We deliberately leave out timetables. National Rail has train times and disruption alerts. Blackpool Transport has tram and bus information. Venues themselves publish late opening, and some close earlier than you expect, so check before you rely on a late finish.
Is it better to stay in the quarter?
For late nights, yes. A stay within five minutes of the bars removes most of the transport worry. Our Queen Street stays and station stays pages list the shortest walks.
Arriving by taxi or coach
If you arrive by taxi, give the driver the full address and postcode. Lord Street is FY1 2BD for Q Accommodation and FY1 2BJ for Trades, and Funny Girls is FY1 2AX on Dickson Road.
